Rutan Quickie - scratch built small scale R/C
I've always liked the look of the Rutan Quickie and a few days ago while I was browsing the internet I came across a three-view of one, so I printed it on two 8-1/2" x 11" sheets of paper and got to work. The length is 13-1/2" and the wingspan is 16". I used a standard box construction for the fuselage, and I built the wings without standard cut ribs, but instead used small strips of balsa bent from L.E. to T.E. with the main spar creating the air foil shape. It came out pretty good - total flying weight is about 4 ounces, and I'm using a 250 size motor. The build phase.

I'm hoping for fairly calm winds this weekend for a first flight. I'll post the results.
