Easy repair of Clever Dragonfly blades
I've broken my share of the blades on my Clever Dragonfly - so I thought I'd share my way of repairing them which works very well. You will need a short length of 1/16" heatshrink, cutters, and cyanoacrylate (super glue). Remove the blade(s) - you will have to remove the retainer from the top shaft. Cut the heatshrink tubing to length - it should be the same length as from the hub to the blade. Slide the heatshrink over the broken shaft. Push the hub end of the broken shaft into the heatshrink and then heat (make sure you don't melt any of the plastic). Once the heatshrink has cooled, pull the hub end of the broken shaft out of the heatshrink and add a small dab of cyanoacrylate (super glue) on the shaft and push the heatshrink back into place (hold tight for a few seconds). Put the blades back on the helicopter and push the retainer back in place... ...and you are ready to fly. I hope this little tip helps you - I know I have saved myself quite a few dollars. I know some of the hardcore guys out there might say that this unbalances the rotor, but the stock rotors are pretty unbalanced to begin with, and I haven't noticed any worse flying performance afterwards.
